Short tank, I see in other photos it sometimes pulls a trailer, guessing suction cleaning. Credit to eastleighbusman for the photo.

I’d say Jensen Interceptor for the smart green car.

On the ERF, was that 120 bhp Gardner engine the ultimate upgrading of the 6 LW?

Jensen Interceptor FF = four wheel drive, it has the twin grills on the front wings.

What a car, did the FF stand for Ferguson Four?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jensen_FF

The FF stands for Ferguson Formula

I found this picture on the Bootle History Forum. It is an early 1950s Bank Holiday Monday. The traffic is passing
through the Mersey Tunnel tollbooths, heading to Wirral and North Wales resorts. The double deck bus on the
left appears to be a Liverpool Corporation Daimler with bodywork by Northern Counties of Wigan. The coaches
appear to be a Commer and an Austin.

Ray.

Today I hit 74 & still have my class one licence not that one would want to use it in todays mad traffic but it has been my working life from an OD to a fleet of over 30 now run by my very able sons, things have changed dramatically over that 50 plus years but suppose that is called progression, gone from a fix it roadside with a box of spanners to cant fix it without a computer. Been invited to a visit to the Scania factory in Sweden with my oldest son so may take that opportunity up but until then will keep posting pictures,   Buzzer

You don’t look a day over 60 in that photo.

Many Happy Returns.

This unit was on FB apparently powered by an 8cyl Gardener.

Until a decade or more ago when I came across an old Aboods Foden, it never occurred to me that Australia got a Gardner 8LXB. The things you learn etc.

My first motor at Econofreight was a Foden with one of those in it, the difference between the Foden and the Atki was the Foden was given a short nose to accommodate it, whereas the Atkis had them sticking out the back of the cab. I think you could even top the oil up without lifting the bonnet.

Made me wonder when I saw that Australian Atki, the wheelbase didn’t seem that long so it must have been tight for the front of a trailer.

I suppose that’s why an inline 6 predominates (hence β– β– β– β– β– β– β–  et al)

I think that the Citroen H van belongs to a friend’s daughter as it parks near me.
