How does such a truck manage on roundabouts?

Not just on roundabouts, any kind of tight shunting into position. Perhaps all those singles could be lifted in such cases?

I have this photo of a different truck but same axle configuration with all the singles lifted. Roundabouts are few and far in the USA but in the original photo the truck was loaded and had just come off a r/bout.

That looks like an Alvis, but diesel? :astonished: My expression just now at that reminds me of the time I turned up at a Classic American Car Club do in Bedfordshire and proudly lifted the bonnet of my '39 Packard to reveal the Perkins P6 inside. The Secretary’s expression was priceless, and I wasn’t invited to join.

Back in the '70s a neighbour had a Bentley MK6 with a 4LW in. Don’t know what shade of diesel it ran on but he was a plant fitter –

Thanks to Buzzer, tyneside, DIG and robinswh for the photos

With no 3 pointed star, but with a red triangular radiator badge?
And if you are looking at .gov MoT check,I doubt it was first reg in 2005, it isn`t black either.
I suspect a transfer of number plate?

Whatever it is I expect the purists will abhor it, just as the Hon.Sec. did regarding my Packard. He was appalled but there was no way I could afford to roll around behind a straight 8 petrol guzzler.

At the same time a mate of mine owned an Alvis of that era, but which was a hearse. There were 2 rears seats squashed in either side of the coffin carrier.

PAF163 has a current MOT to 17th Aug 2023 as a Mercedes Benz C diesel, are the DVLA wrong here, Buzzer

Might that the number have been transferred? That photo shows that reg number, but that isn`t a black Merc C Class, is it?
Do we know when that photo was taken? Recently or years ago?

Edit
Photo seems to be from 2014
