Not exactly the same headlight, but one very similar. That is a younger Noel than I remember him and The Power and the Glory is an older wagon and not still there in my time. But interesting point about the walkways, because I never had any trailers like that, so he must have had other thoughts at some point. The bars, as you can see, were just close enough to enable us to hang there with legs dangling in order to give an errant beast a gentle tap. If that didn’t work it was down amongst them, always ready for a swift climb up the sides to safety. I was up a ladder yesterday clearing out gutters, not sure I’d be up for a bit of dancing on wild ones now though.

Just noticed, no 'roo bars and thus no great big single searchlight set in the centre either. This was tied into the full beam switch.

No, never heard of them before Dig, nor seen an Autocar while I was there either. The other firms that I remember mainly were Outback Transport who ran Fodens and Baldock’s (?), who were keen on Leylands.

But the ‘sleeper’, on that Autocar I do recognise, the nearest we got to such a thing at Buntine’s. :unamused: Never used it myself, always preferred the soft bulldust under the trailer, despite dire warnings of snakes and scorpions. As regards the snakes, I did shake one out of my sleeping bag after one night in the desert on my way south in the car with the 2 Victorians. Never knew he was in there, attracted by the warmth i reckon, and he scarpered tout de suite more scared of me than anything else.
