Saratoga:
Thanks for the contact via Flickr, Oiltreader

Hi Saratoga, thanks for that … always looking for material to keep the thread going.
Cheers

[… tilted the cab at the hub and took a hacksaw to the limiter cable and made the return leg in just under an hour and a half.

I ‘accidentally’ did this once to a van I drove. For some reason after that I was always first back at the yard tipping off!

Oily, loving the pictures, keep them coming please they’re great.

Just trying my new camera out, Regards Larry.

Three early Leylands.

Later models.

Here’s a few more oldies, sadly after they have retired.

Another ERF still earning her keep with Gary Weir of Sanquhar she had a make over a wee while back so still good for a while yet

Good stuff there chaps, a few more ERF, the last one SX reg gives it a Scottish connection, Midlothian  yes no.
Oily
Edit Just had a look and find SX was Edinburgh and West Lothian up to 1981.

I have just read on the South Wales thread from Andrew that Martin Phippard is not enjoying good health.
I wrote to Martin last April with regard to permission for posting pictures from his extensive collection, which he has gathered worldwide. His response was generous, not only to myself but also with a message of goodwill to others on TruckNet to whom he was acquainted with, for me a true gent, so I wish him well, I am sure others will feel the same.
Oily

Well Oily, if you’re as polite to all the people you email on Flickr for the truck photos as you were for me then it’s not surprising is it

I went into Inverness today looking for turbine part movements, they were supposed to start from the harbour 9am monday past and didn’t, anyway got there at 8.30, no sign, so snapped a few other wagons and on the the way home (A9 at Tore) I came across these which are from Invergordon harbour and going to the same development, by the time I found somewhere to pull up and walk back, can’t run now, the brain sends the message but the legs don’t respond  , they were just moving off, so did’t quite get to the front.

I have quite a collection of varied pictures from steam to present day and also from abroad, I would like others to feel free to post on here as well, if it has driven wheels and carries or pulls a load, let us see it. I have posted a lot of pics on other threads, well they may find their way on here either by design or fault.
AEC is a bit favourite, so will start with them.
