Here’s a few to start the year, Buzzer

Thanks Buzzer.

Is that a Rover P4 in the background?

A Rover P4 it most definitely is!

As an Octogeriatric I welcome the admissions of fellow members to the “Club” some more senior than others also some more fortunate healthwise, I reckon Ivor toshboy is the Daddy among us with probably another half dozen of us past the halfway mark and dare I say from experience it certainly ain’t downhill from hereon

From France and trying to figure out the machine in the first 2 photos an elevator for person or materials, the 3rd photo same idea and definitely person. Credit to Dave Fawcett for the photos.

Looks like a Ford tractor in the first 2 pics Oily.

Yes Dean I sussed that, a 1980 model it was the purpose of the machine I was trying to figure out.
Cheers

Live it to the full while you can , doesn’t seem like 5 minutes since turning 70 . Memory getting worse , but wife is on hand to remind me , loudly , of that shortcoming .

Treasure that while you have it, my wife’s mind has descended into the depths of confusion and, I am now a 24/7 carer. But for that I would still be rolling the roads of Europe with the dogs.

Thanks for the comments fellahs.

I have realised how fast time is flying by seeing my grandchildren “ageing” before my eyes! Babes one minute, one heading to young womanhood now… Yes, enjoy every day to the full. To note by the younger members and visitors of the forum too!

Son is now 55 , grandkids 31 & 29 and great granddaughter born in December , but I’m blessed to see 4generations of our family together . It is a sort of bonus to be enjoyed while I can . I hope you get to see your family growing .

Can’t make up my mind if I like that red Scania or not. Good sense not to have a high roof if that’s the trailer he always pulls, but a little more room inside would be my preference, unless it is just on day runs of course.

The Volvo and drag certainly meets with my approval though.

Great photos as usual, I am pretty sure the top picture is the entrance to SDI and SC, Malleable Works, Stockton, also the other photo. In the top picture you can see the driver, again I am pretty sure it is John Suggitt, from Great Ayton where A. Stevens were based, he later worked for British Oxygen at Teesport where my Dad worked for 20 years. I knew a few Stevens drivers over the years, as I recall it was one of the better companies to work for in the area. Keep up the good work, I love this thread.
