That’s an interesting photo. Are the cars Lotus Cortinas? Must be late '68 on by the Mk 2 yet the Mk1s look newish. Perhaps a race event?

Certainly not racers. I was deeply into racing at that time and do not recognise any of the Reg nos., not to mention the fact that the cars are still in road trim. Still nice cars though.

I would say around 1963/4 and MG assembly plant loading area at Abingdon with lines that handled MGBs and Midgets, Austin Healey 3000s and Sprites Morris 1000 with Traveller and van versions also the Mini Countryman. Look like BRS with Carrimore trailer other two J Harding Tasker trailers with Burtonwood electric lifts, loading top deck drop lift and drive car on stay in car press button(not remote ) slowly skywards drive car forward let yourself and lift down and repeat twice, same caper for bottom deck and by the time loaded the Carrimore driver is well on his way to the docks.

Ergo cab with the door wrenched off. General opinion seems to favour a Marathon.
The air cleaner and 5th wheel on the right possibly a Barreiros built Dodge,
This side of the fence the NSR corner of a Ford Granada/Scorpio.

Not a Marathon. It’s not a high datum cab, possibly Buffalo?

Definitely not a Marathon nor a Buffalo which also had a high datum cab. Looks more like a 2 pedal Beaver, large air intake and long air reservoir on offside. It also looks very much like the ‘Spanish Dodge’ next to it too. Photo from the Graham Edge booklet on the Leyland Beaver. Franky.

Hi Franky. Not sure what I was thinking mentioning Buffalo. I was looking at what appears to be the header tank on the cab. It looks like the type introduced in the early seventies as a conversion kit to try to s stop the 410 engine overheating. Think there was tractor unit fitted with the 410 but cannot remember what it was called.
I’ve been asked to post a picture of a wintery M6 taken by myself during lockdown at the beginning of the year.
Beautiful scenery in that neck of the woods. No traffic at all, what happened?
It was during lockdown, we had times when the motorway had no traffic for 30 seconds or more. That was one of the times.

Definitely an event as the Mk1 on the bottom deck is a pre airflow the other two Mk1’s are airflows and the Mk2 looks like a series 2 Mk2 so late 69 there’s a good 6 years between models there, and worth about 200K combined
Hi Rob Have you seen the roads between West Lothian and Glagow fruit market Joking apart that’s Bobby Knox a.k.a the midnight marauder usually had an a-frame drag behind it.Cheers Ray
