Back in business again.
I was taken with these Albions so I wrote to Phil Schubert of Perth, Western Australia, I had a nice reply back, they were his dads trucks and he has unearthed the pictures from an old biscuit tin, he says there are more to follow.

Thats some trailer, not an extendable, what length would it be 60ft? I recall that Strathclyde Motor Services used to run the same kind of trailers in the 70’s.Me and my manager were at the Motor Show at the Kelvin Hall one year, and after over “imbibing” in the Northern Trailers hotel suite I had him with his head in his hands next morning (not only a hangover) when I convinced him he had ordered two 60 footers,so where did he see them fitting into our operation I asked ? !!! Happy days hic! hic! Cheers Dennis.

We had a fixed 60ft trailer at Thomas Ingles, it was used for taking 70ft header pipes to the nuclear power station at Dounray, a 2 man job and involved a 30mile detour just to get to the motorway 8 miles away ! Other obstacles was a post box in Inverness which often got uprooted
The trailer was built by Thompsons a division of the firm that built the power station pipework ! later taken over by Clarke Chapman from Gateshead.

Hi all,
