Hi Oily a pal of mine has a Cormacks DAF unit based in Orkney where he regularly shunts Cormack trailers off the ferries from the mainland to various businesses and projects taking place in the isles general cargo and livestock sometimes in the reverse direction according to the season.

Few bobs worth of cortinas
Indeed, but not just Cortinas but Lotus Cortinas. The photo was possibly taken at the model change from Mk 1 to Mk 2, 1966-1967. The Trader had also been superseded by the D series at that date.

A few bobs worth of LOTUS Cortinas. Very nice. Jim Clark cornering a Lotus C on the door handles with a front wheel off the tarmac was a sight to behold…never forgotten.

Hi Dipster, The transporter is/was in preservation, the 1964 unit colour was green and now Toleman blue and I would say the photo is at a Lotus “meet”. There was a transporter firm namely Dependable Delivery, different livery colour worked out of Luton in the '60s with Bedford tractor units.

edit Had a google and found this 2011 photo at Goodwood.
Here in Toleman livery. flickriver.com/photos/old_m … 722782333/

We had Iddon wagons earlier, here’s another at Dundee all credit to Ron Hann.

Not a pic from that period, as youve 3 models there mk1 pre airflow mk1 airflow and the mk 2 is a later 69 model so there a good 7 years between models

That pic takes me back to my late teens (1974) when I owned a 1500E Cortina LGE784E. It was previously the company car of the transport manager for a Glasgow haulage firm called McNeills who later morphed into Arbuckle-Smith. Loved the car to bits.

Don’t remember a 1500E, was it possibly a 1600E ?
