I would sell Mrs GOM to the white slave trade in exchange for that little Austin 7 (I did have one in 1958 but it needed new tyres that I couldn’t afford so it had to go).
And yes we had a fruit and veg man (horse and cart), I remember it well, the horse used to defecate outside our house, and guess who got the job of shovelling it up. :frowning:

…but good for the roses GOM!

That picture brings back happy(?) memories Backsplice, on my first trip with Buntine’s in the NT I had 16, all on the trailers, not much help with the changing but my mates passing by did lend their spares when I ran out after the 12th. :open_mouth:

I saw this little van in Wigan town centre on Monday 7/9/2020. The only time I ever saw one of
these was about 15 years ago when I used to do regular deliveries of Counter Terrorism clothing
and equipment to the C.B.R.N. ( Chemical, Biological, Radiological, & Nuclear ) Training Centre
at Winterbourne Gunner, near Salisbury. The C.B.R.N. depot was operated by civilian staff of
Hampshire Police. I was fortunate enough to get return traffic from here, for delivery to Police
Forces, Ambulance Service, and Fire Services, mainly in the North of England and all of Scotland.
The goods I was carrying were manufactured by Remploy Frontline, mostly at 5 of their Scottish
factories, and connected with my request to deliver to the emergency services as return traffic,
Chris Owen at Remploy Frontline sent this letter of approval to the Home Office.

Gone are the days of open top sheep decks on trucks all enclosed now, the sides used to lean in suppose to stop the temptation to jump over but it is a long way down, Buzzer.

Hi Buzzer
The lean in on the top deck sides was more to do with the way they were hinged along the roof rave and how they were secured to the load dividers.

Johnsons the Cleaners were a major employer for many years in Bootle.
Six of their Morris lorries and 1 smaller van which I think is a Bedford.
Pictures from Bootle History Forum.

2003 Atkinson Gathering and all credit to SCP for the photo.

Oily There is a Peter MCallum Atkinson parked along side part of the late Tyson Burridge’s collection of vintage wagons. This was a genuine member of the McCallum fleet and ended up operating in Tyson’s fleet. Here it is taking part in the ■■■■■■■ Trunk Run at Carnforth Truck Stop in 2015.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

Hi Dan, Thanks for posting these great shots of your very smart motors, Please keep them rolling, Regards Larry.

When I retired in 2011 I let my Class ! C+E licence go.
Then when I turned 70, I lost my 7.5 entitlement.

Now…I want one of these!!!

It’s an old Bellier Docker, 408cc Lombardini diesel engine, auto gearbox with reverse, all mounted on the back axle.

Just about my big enough, I reckon!
