Passing on the inside

Lanes 1 is good for…

Passing all the slow traffic in lanes 2 and 3.

On a good day I rather enjoy moving 2 lanes over, going past them, then moving 2 lanes back again, then watching to see if this wakes them up and they pull back into the left lane.

On even better days, I overtake them, move back to lane1, slow down, make them overtake me again and repeat. It’s called ‘orbiting’ them.

On nights, I sometimes drive for like a whole mile in the middle lane because no one can see me doing it. Include coming off at junctions without using my trafficator when no one’s there. It’s such a release.

Professional driving of the highest order mate. Keep it up.

I like the sound of this orbiting.
If you have satellites of your own orbiting you, and they too respectively, the possibilities are beautiful and infinite

I was on the m62 yesterday going though the roadworks. 50mph speed limit and the numpties were bunched up in the middle lane doing 40mph. Lane 1 clear

One of which saw you coming and moved into lane 1 to block you coming through, and the others in lane 2 meant you couldn’t overtake. Cue the next 5 miles at 37-40mph.

Meaning your journey takes two whole minutes longer than it would had you continued at 50mph. i.e. a negligible difference (especially if you’re hourly paid, when said extra two minutes could earn you another 50p…)

I wouldn’t get out of bed for that mate.
