I wouldn’t like to sit that low down, tbh.
Thats bizarre. I passed a recovery lorry near my house two days ago with one of those on the back(Didnt have that top bit though) and saw it was a merc actros and thought “Ive never seen that before”. Looked like a bin lorry cab but was tractor unit only. Very weird looking. And ugly. Hope it isnt the shape of things to come!
If I want my arse scraping the tarmac, I’ll go drive a crane. That’s just plain fugly.
At least nobody would be able to complain about lack of headroom in that truck…
Guys…? Have a look how room there is upstairs, looks like the Penthouse
…or is that where they’ve put the engine?
looks like a double manners dream. extremely ugly and extremely paractical…walter koops prob has an order in for 100 of them already.you could probably triple man that…work your way round about that one mr vosa…
nothing new again its just a referb … the original concept was for vehicles loading aircraft being able to get the payload lift box to the aircraft body…
Think this was on a Tomorrows world program back in the late 70’s
With the late great Raymond Baxter
Yeah I’m an old git so what
The engine must be in the trailer

Nothing for them to work round, 2, 3 or more drivers makes zero difference to the multi-manning regs.

Its only as low as most buses.
first look makes me think of a dustcart
Surely its just for maximum load at lower weights. Dont Vos do a lot of autoparts?
Hot tub upstairs?
Corporate video from VOS. Jump to 2.10 to see a few seconds of the truck I saw.
Cold upstairs in winter, big plastic pod with big plastic windows.

The idea of a cab over is bad enough but the idea of most of the driver’s body and the windscreen starting and any metal which there might have been across the front acting as a barrier, being below and ending at about trailer deck height,in the event of a real world nose to tail shunt scenario is just nuts.In addition to height meaning vision over a longer distance ahead. The result possibly/probably being the difference between stopping in time or at worse just broken legs.As opposed to severe collision and crushed from the legs up.

Fine in the urban refuse collection etc environment at low urban type speeds. But not so good in the real world of high speed motorway use where more height means more vision.Or potential high speed motorway impacts where the last thing anyone needs is to run into the back of a trailer where the deck is about waist or chest height and all there is between the driver and the crash is a bit of glass.I think the message is a cyclist’s life is worth more than a truck driver’s.
