Passed test nearly a month ago still no licence?

I passed my class 2 at the beginning of December. The examiner took and shredded my
Old licence even though I asked him not to as I needed to change address. I couldn’t find my driving licence the day after so called the test centre and they confirmed it was destroyed and a new one would be sent automatically within 3 weeks. I waited 3 weeks and called them back they had no record to send me a new licence so I applied by post last week and the dvla website hasn’t updated.

I need my licence to do cpc mod 4 or I wouldn’t mind it taking a while.

Congrats on the pass!
You should have received it within 3 days not weeks. If it’s not updated online I would be chasing up the test centre.

I contacted the centre and they told me to contact dvla if it hasn’t got here within 3 weeks. They said I had to do a postal application with my pass cert that I sent last thurs. I’m guessing it would take longer than normal because it’s around Xmas and strikes?

Well never ever heard of that happening before. The examiner took your licence and shredded it? Did you see him doing it? Did he ask your permission? I very much doubt if he had the authority to do that. No wonder you could not find it the next day. :exclamation:
You will have his name. I would follow that up as I’m fairly certain that is not allowed.

Yes that’s std practice. The test centre shreds the old license and the DVLA issue the new one. Pointless posting the old license somewhere.

Ok I stand corrected. Certainly never used to be like that but everything changes and not always for the better.

I was asked if I would like that service and said yes.
Passed on the Thursday and new licence arrived on the Saturday.
Great service when it goes to plan.
