Passed my Class 1

Hi all,

Passed my Class 1 today

Not been around here as much recently, work and everything kept me busy, but dropped in at times and kept up with everything in here being helpfully with everything, always a nice reminder that most of the HGV industry gets decent people.

Started my Class 1 in October, test got cancelled and a few things got in the way and a bit of a faff but going sorted with my test for today and a couple hours yesterday to get some practice in, I was bricking it, Nerves on test really messed with me on my class 2 took 4 goes to get that one right, not driven a artic for 5 months and only couple hours in the cab didn’t fill me with confidence, but trainer was fantastic, examiner was a really good guy, the sun was out and kept my cool, everything went fine, one minor I didn’t straddle the lanes on the last roundabout turning right just before getting back to the test centre and just caught the roundabout  but didn’t go over it, just rubbed the tyres so didn’t ruin everything for me.

Good Luck to everybody else on their tests, remember you can do it, stay calm, take the time and space you need and you will not have to see that clipboard of doom ever again!

Congratulations

Nice one mate! So what’s on the cards, new job hunting?

Not just yet, I am driving, not as much as I want with current company, just got my own lorry in to start doing more with them as well, so gets me on the road and less office which is awesome (26t DAF CF 7 Car transporter) Think Kevtee/Copart just not quite as shiny, but will be once get chance to go at it with some paint, so can stick around for now, there are supposed to be plans for more work and a new artic on fleet with a couple more trailers, so sticking with it for now, Love having my own lorry, but want to get on the artics as much as possiable soon or ill never get practice in reversing them, car hanging off the speclift isn’t quiet the same.

well done Squire
