Had my class one test today and passed with 2 minors. Started in Carliske and went off round Gretna/Longtown and back, proper chuffed!!

Interesting that even newbie bender drivers call the licence ‘Class One’ instead of C+E despite the old term being defunct for quite a while now, usually the younger generation like to use the latest jargon and not something that’s old hat or does it make them sound more on an equal with their older oppo’s! Congratulations on passing the test, I remember the delight on my old mans face when I told him the same news many moons ago. Cheers Franky.

I passed mine almost two years ago with 2 minors also. Just remember that you have only been taught to pass your test. You will learn to drive a truck a little more every day your out in one.

My top tip is, dont be afraid to ask advice. If your not sure about something, find one of the ‘old boys’ and ask him to help you out. Don’t get me wrong, some will tell you to do one but most are more than willing to give you advice.

Well done and welcome to the world of having no life at home if you end up tramping. (yes, I’m bitter. Lol. But I do love my job.)
