Passed hgv licence - insurance company?

hi

I passed my class 2 last year, i wont be driving professionally until spring. Should I have updated my car insurance company of me passing my test even if i am not driving professionally? If so is my insurance void? I was involved in a knock tonight and it wasnt my fault, but will i default if a claim is made?

If your not driving them your not a HGV driver as a profession so would not be something to notify your insurance of. When you do start then you will need to notify them of your new career obviously.

I don’t remember any insurance company ever asking what categories are on the driving licence, as has been said they only want to know your occupation.
