Passed yesterday at Gillingham- 3 minors. LONGEST hour of my life!!! Thought it would never end, then just when I thought it was all over he drives me by the test center for another 10 min!!! That 10 min felt like the hour all over again.
On the 4th and last day of driver training I found 2 things useful.
My trainer said, “I’m not teaching you HOW to drive, I’m just upgrading your license!” and he’s right, if you know how to drive, know your highway code, it’s just a bigger vehicle and slightly different gearbox.
He actually got behind the wheel and drove for 10 min talking about what he was doing as he did it, and it was like a light bulb went off.
Thoroughly recommend Springate, Detling. Small company, good people.
So all I kept saying to myself during that long hour is, “IT’S JUST DRIVING!”
Thanks again for the site. Now I just need a job! Anyone know any companies in and around Kent that will take on a newbie? LOL

Thanks all. I went to my 3rd agency on Friday, got a days work on Saturday! Got well excited, but ended up just being drivers mate doing multi drop in London. £11/hr was great, but no work in 4 days from any of the 5 agencies I’m now signed on with. I am getting a bit depressed and it hasn’t even been a week lol. Call me a whiner, but I want to get out there doing anything right now! Do you just call the agencies every day? bother them continually until they throw you a bone? I’m very impatient and am not doing any other work right now.
