Passed class 1 thanks to bypass training Southampton

After looking around in the area I was undecided on which training school was for me so I went down to fair oak and had a talk with ade at bypass. he took me for free assessment he explained a few things which helped. I realised that this company did not use brokers to get there work which instantly made think they must have a good reputation. I booked the test for 10:30 in the morning just after rush hour and as is Sumer holidays so many of the usual road idiots are on holiday. after getting my reverse sorted which is tricky but they had a key to get me there I nailed it in 2 hours. Ade has a gentle but firm approach to training I felt 0 pressure the whole time. there truck is big so it was easier to reverse.

I thought I failed as I came of the roundabout to m27 in the near side lane then a bit down there was a police chase 4 police cars t-pac this car on the other side of the motorway. Then I got into Southampton and the police had closed the road because of a stabbing. The examiner told me to pull in front of the road block he got out and started to talk to the policeman I had engine off. Either side was low bridges where they was diverting after the go ahead we was allowed through the examiner was not happy he said if we can’t get the test done I will terminate it, he said cmon get a move on so input my foot down a bit but not being silly we got back and he said you have passed. I just need to get it going a bit faster and that’s exactly ade’s moto “lets get it going” so point taken I will get it going lol.

Now I’m not sure I think I’m going maritime seems low stress nice trucks and ok pay but not sure just so happy I have past. If your thinking of going C then straight into CE don’t get a year under your belt it defo helped me. Thanks ade and BY-PASS

Congrats pal!

Glad you got through with all that going on…

Good guys down at By-Pass, a nice friendly bunch!

Surprised you are thinking of applying to Maritime as I thought they were pretty strict about wanting experience, but I might be wrong.
Let me know how you get on…

Best of luck!

Digit369:
he said you have passed.

Hi Digit369,

:grimacing: CONGRATULATIONS on passing your LGV “C+E” test
  :grimacing:   :grimacing:

By-Pass are already on the TN list of recommended LGV driving tuition providers, so that means that at least one other TN member has received good tuition at a sensible price.

Thanks for your feedback.

You’ve reminded me of the opposite of what happened to the other guy (I trained 2:1) when I took my C+E test.
Our instructor had been telling the other guy to slow down all week, but he knew best and failed. :unamused:

The examiner’s remark was…
“I’m sorry to tell you that you’ve failed, but if it’s any consolation, you now hold the lap record.” :open_mouth:

BTW, I did my test (in black-and-white  ) back in 1979, but I’ve never forgotten the examiner’s remark.

Good luck in your next step mate.

Well done, sounds like it was an interesting test! If you have any questions about maritime feel free to hit me up

I passed recently with them and start my new job next Monday. Good luck with the hunt! Ade is a good instructor - recommend By-Pass to anyone.
