Well if you don’t do anything, nothing will happen and you’ll still be in the same situation,

So what do you think you should do :unamused:

Just go and pop in to a few agencies and go and speak to haulage companies.

Best to go in rather than phone them up.

Well done btw.

Find farms that run their own trucks, hay or straw haulage.
Go on the Dvsa website under the applications and decisions pages that list owner drivers to large fleets in your area.
Knock on doors, don’t phone or email them, they never reply.

Longs of Leeds. Pay is crap but they’re desperate and its a start.

Try Reed Boardall, but first search the forum for Reed Boardall and see what comes up!

Hi

Do you no anyone you could go with and learn a few things, I remember when I started I used to go out night time with few people changing trailers, didn’t actually drive straight away but soon picked it up, just show that you’re keen and willing to learn shouldn’t have any problems

Throw the ■■■■ thing in the bin and get a proper job.

seriously congratulations

To start with you’ll probably have to start with the smelly end of the stick and take what you can get whether agency or company. As you gain hours, experience and prove yourself things should improve and better opportunities will come along. Try and get out with a GOOD experienced driver to learn the little things as doing it for a living is a whole different ball game to passing a test.

Read and ask questions on here, there’s a huge amount of real world accumulated knowledge on here (OK so there’s a load of BS too sometimes), unlike the shiny arses who write the training syllabus/tests. Doing an advanced course on bike/car or lorry is very worthwhile but again adapt what you learn to the situation you find yourself in and your own driving style (we all develop one through time and experience).

Yeh get a well paid job in a factory to get back the money you have wasted :bulb:

No, Seriously well done bud, pm on way to you

Well done :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Following on from what mattwhit has said,I did my first trunk in an artic yesterday ( double decker too bloody hell how big are they ! ) I managed it ok but glad the yard was empty because I had to do a few shunts reversing it into a bay. Then when I got back to our depot had to do a blindside and again a few shunts and yard was deserted thankfully
The driving side I’m spot on with but can you be a natural at reversing or is it really just practice makes perfect and I’m not just useless ? I’ve read some good points on other threads about reversing but can anyone suggest any more good tips ?

What I noticed yesterday was I seem to be starting off ok’ish then half way through the manoeuvre I forget which way to turn the flipping steering wheel then it goes teets up
