You can’t argue that he didn’t do the right thing there though, to save his own bacon I mean…
What gets me, is how soon the train gets there after the barriers come down. FFS That’s gotta be less than the 10-12 seconds required to traverse the bloody crossing surely?
I reckon if I had a barrier come down in front of me, isolating me on the track like that - I’d assume the train arrival is imminent, and I’d just bust through the barrier and keep going!
Alternatively, one could just approach the barrier when up with a bit more caution in the first instance, or one might end up yet another casualty of crossings like the notorious “Foxton level crossing” on the A10 in Cambridgeshire…
