leaving louth on sunday via immingham going up to lochailort (west of fort william ) any places to stop on the way up , hoping 10 hrs drive will get there or there abouts,434 miles
Once you pick up the 82 you will be lucky to average 30 mph with all the tourists dawdling along admiring the scenery. Sorry but cant help you with somewhere to stop.

Am presuming you will be going via A1 to the A66 to M6 route ? if so if its any help grimsby to lockerbie jct 17 of the A74M is 4hrs 15 and fort william is roughly same lockerbie to fort william around 4hrs 10 so can drive in 10 hours easy and I used to stop either scotch corner or if you come off at jct 16 A74M there is services there so upto you really.
think there is a lorry park beside morrisons in fort william. only certain times of year though so best to check
HTH
cheers jc
As said, parking not a problem in fort William, go past a car park on your left, then straight over roundabout, keeping morrisons on your right. Plenty of space especially on a Sunday. As for A82 dawdlers…you can always overtake them!
