If you want a layby head from Bracknell towards Reading, pick up the A4 Bath road, (or go cross country) just after the golf course on your right there is a massive layby, offset from the road, 2-3 pubs within walking distance.
There’s one or two off the road type layby’s on the A404 as you head up to the M40. Not sure of facilities in the daytime - portakabin café type thing or the like, but’s its a decent shortcut if you’re trying to get to the M40 North when you restart.
Probably too late for you now, but I know The Riverside cafe is that way. Not used it myself, so can’t comment on how good (or not) it is.
