parking tickets....

does anyone know whether after been given a parking ticket and you don’t move can they give you a second one the next day and the next etc… just wondering because it costs me £39.00 to park for the weekend but if I parked outside the truck park and got a parking ticket it only cost £30.00 ?

I would imagine so yes, especially if it runs into two days.

you could also be possibly be clamped /wired towed so is it worth it .

So for the sake of parking outside the truck park & not paying the extra £9 to park in the truck park, I suspect that you`ll still want to use the facilities of said truck park i.e: the showers but not contributing towards the running costs of them :unamused: :unamused:

yep, loads of exotic cars in london with a windscreen full of parking tickets because the owner doesn’t give a f…

Just pay the extra £9 for the truck park, I’d rather voluntarily give my money to them than some scumbag council

I believe it is only illegal to be clamped by private companies, but that local councils can still clamp/ tow etc.

well you learn something everyday

A parking ticket ceases at midnight on the day it’s issued. Once you get a ticket, you don’t need to move and can stay put until midnight - unless they tow etc.

After midnight they can issue a new ticket.

I recently parked overnight in Beckton, London. Woke up to find two tickets on my windscreen, for “violating parking restrictions in a controlled residential zone, vehicle in excess of 7.5t” - bit strange as there were no signs saying I couldn’t park there, and there were no houses either!!

Ticket 1 - issued at 23.43 hours
Ticket 2 - issued at 00.19 hours

Both issued by the same Enforcement Officer, phoned Council and they confirmed the midnight changeover. They did agree to rescind the 2nd ticket as a goodwill gesture, but weren’t interested in discussing the lack of signage or lack or houses!!

Oh well.

Is it the same with speeding, ie going down a road and setting 3 or 4 speed cameras off, after all you were only speeding once

OP, are we talking private parking tickets or Council/Police ones?

best bit of advice I ever got from a parking attendant was to put a big sign saying broken down in your windscreen and put hazard lights on, ive beaten 4 tickets so far this way, better than a disabled badge, not sure if its good for overnihjt hgv parking but handy for popping into co-op for a few bits

Company pays parking for weekend but plenty of foreign trucks on yellows are getting away with it outside just thought I could save the company a little that’s all

Are you on Brit plates or foreign plates…if the former, you’ve no chance
