Getting of boat need a 45 break is there anywhere near by to park with entertainment
portsmouth truckstop, rough parking, rough food, rough looking staff. apart from that I’m sorry I don’t know of anywhere, that part of the UK is badly lacking in parking cosidering the size of the port
We had this discussion before. The only rough part is the parking surface. Food, showers, everything else is more than adequate.
45 minutes or 45hrsâ– â– ?
Park in the dock round the back of the ship,if for the weekend try along the naval base wall by the retail park, you might have to pay though, your a short walk into the centre of town.
Or be cheeky and park in the dock for the weekend loads of pubs and what not around.
I think the daily charge for an artic is £90 per 24 hour period inside the dock, risky!
Go out of the dock, go all the way around the M275 roundabout heading back into the dock. Divert to the right, infront of the dock entrance to the Keyfuels pumps. Go past them and park up opposite the Ship Stores warehouse, partly on the left hand pavement. No one bothers you there. Enough room for 2 artics parked considerately.
Pub by the dock entrance or directly across roundabout into Kingston Crescent and London Road shops etc.

Its about 2 years since I was there last so maybe things have improved, most parking places were taken by a fleet of small fridge vans and minibuses

They go at nights for their deliveries, and return after we’ve gone.

Vern does Dave still run the place?
If you are in a rig or unit only, there is a small lorry park at Portchester 5 mins up the A27. It is signed off the roundabout there. Its a freebie but you cannot take artics in there.
