I think the problem is, Malc, that it isn’t really an “Autohof” in the classic sense but only a small (albeit very good) restaurant next to a fuel station, with limited parking facilities, on the middle of an industrial estate.

It isn’t signposted from the Autobahn, so a lot of passing trade will be unaware of its existence. I assume the majority of its trade will come from folks using the industrial estate during the week, so trade will dry up at the weekend.

The one time I was there, I was looking for the old truck stop which used to be nearer the Autobahn (long since gone, apparently). I stumbled across this place whilst using the industrial estate to turn round in.

well thanks all for the advice, but i didn’t quite make any of them :frowning:
had to wait abit longer for a boat than i wanted, plus copped some traffic and roadworks on the way down, got to the border at aachen at 22.00, and just didn’t want to risk the short run in, beings the german ban had kicked in. ended up at the shell station, on the dutch side, had shower etc, so not to bad.

German Sunday and Public Holiday ban starts at midnight, not 22:00, so if you had enough driving time left you could have made Eifeltor, or Propsteier Wald.

Even if you go a bit over they don’t seem to worry so much, as long as the road is not “Stau”

I have run until about 5am to get to somewhere I wanted to be :imp:

i’ll be honest, i did think about it, but thought knowing my luck, i’d get a tug, i should have gone for it really, especially as it wasn’t far over the border, oh well, i’ll know next time. i made it to eifeltor today, nipped down there to get truck and trailer washed, free coffee and a sausage :sunglasses:

Paachen nr Aachen- couldn’t resist it.

And more especially as the ban hadn’t started. :stuck_out_tongue:

Simon, your posts with Pete are slipping, as a regular user of TNUK, I find them quite confusing to navigate and search

I know, but I seem to get a lot less time to myself these days.
Either that or everything just takes me longer, age maybe ?

I was actually referring to your post, the one I quoted, from earlier in this thread.
