Looking for a safe place to park for my time off ,off the m1 between ferrybridge and wetherby services, preferably with a shop/pub nearby to get something to eat. , will be loaded so need some , anyone got any suggestions?

bad area to park around there, lorry park in pontefract but unsure how safe it is these days, or lorry park in wetherby

I’ve parked at Pontefract a few times in the last 12 months and never had a problem!
Or there is an industrial est at wetherby opposite side of A1M to services where u can go to local WMC for cheap pie n chips and very tasty too,
Come off A1 at services and head into wetherby, I left at first roundabout, right at second, first proper turning on the left then park somewhere n follow the herd to WMC
Silly me getting mixed up there, Dave thats a great offer thanks I really appreciate it, if I’m down that way, I’ll be sure to let you know . . . Just pulled into wetherbyservices for the night now, but I might look into the other options next time, thanks,

Is the lorry park in wetherby town centre still open? Not stopped there in years. Good spot if its still there.

You mean A1■■ I parked just off jct 42 last week when I was on my way to Nelson. There is a hotel and a nice quiet lane you can land it down right off the A63 literally parallel to the slip road off jct 42.

There are no facilities there, only a Keyfuels pump.
I had some friends who ran a daytime snack bar there some years ago.

I’ve parked in wetherby town centre next to morrisons there’s a big car park / wasteland thing there. Wetherby whaler lovely chips there

how safe you need it… seen drives park behind iceland in Ponty, tesco and morrisons just 2 min walk - but don’t park behind wilkcos loading doors as you will be told to move
