Southampton… Famous for its port, or football team if thats your thing. You would have thought the city council would be pro logistics, and provide areas to park. All Iv found so far is recently introduced no waiting and No night time parking schemes. No double yellows mind, which totally confuses the subject. So any legal places to stick the truck for a nine hours tonight?

Hi lightning,
AFAIK, there’s no restriction on the road (Third Avenue) that runs alongside Millbrook Road West.

Yep, that’s a good location with the KFC, chinese etc across the road and the garage there too.
Also, you can park on Nursling Industrial Estate, only 1/2 mile out.
In the Marchwood area theres Cracknore Hard the security down there will tell you exactly where
Is the parking area by the baths finished altogether?not been there for yrs.
regards dave
Third Avenue is ( of 1st Feb 2012) restricted. Southampton City Council have gained approval for a No parking system and have put flimsy laminated A4 signs telling all such. Spoke to a lady at the council, who said that as with all public roads, parking is subject to the law, and in this case, as of 1/2/12012 this became a no go site. I assume that this means traffic wardens will prob patrol at some point. Interesting to note is their inability to communicate within themselves to get double yellows painted on the 1/2/2012…
alright lighting if you go across the road from maritimes yard where the co op is take the 1st left and park there… to get out u go down to end of the road hook a right and go all the way to the top till u get to the pub then turn left and left again and it brings you bak to the docks… Also there is a big tesco and im sure if your cheeky enough they may let you park there… i live in southampton so if you want anymore ideas drop me a line on this and ill help you out as much as possible… you can also park just off the road about where red funnel is… also thats right in the town centre… i know a few more places but wont put them on here as would need to explain in to much detail…
Is there still a lorry park in Southampton?
IIRC it was near a toll bridge next to a pub. Had a cafe and facilities on site.
first avenue as you come out of the docks seen lorries parked down there
