Parking in Rotherham

As a driver who never gets North of Watford Gap, I have a load tomorrow, that will have it’s last drop in Rotherham Thursday morning. Are there any places you recommend to park, and any areas to avoid. Thanks

Stockyard off Junction 1 M18. Anywhere else just make sure you park up with no load and no diesel. Otherwise you’ll wake up with no load and no diesel [emoji106]

Thanks, that is what I was concerned about. Will have a flat trailer, with nothing valuable. Have also not fuelled up tonight to run the tank down. Does the stockyard fill up early, as may not be up there till quite late, as trailer is not coming off the boat till tomorrow morning.

I would definitely recommend the Stockyard as well if you’re looking for a stop up there. Only been there once but I rolled in around 1700 and there was still quite a bit of room left. Seems to be quite a lot of space there

Give them a call, they’ll let you know roughly when it starts to get full [emoji106]

Food is great at the stockyard and there’s usually enough room.

Recommend The Stockyard. Its the only place I stop when heading on a rare night out up north.
I have arrived as late as 8pm once and there was plenty of room. Good carvery or ask for fish and chips. Its cooked to order so it arrives hot and fresh.
In the bar Taddy lager is only £2.30 a pint! Happy days.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like the Stockyard it is. Hopefully won’t be too late getting there.

Carvery stops around 9pm :frowning:

I have parked in an estate on a road called Bradmarsh way. Got a pub called the Riverside nearby. Never had trouble there.

Isn’t Thursday “grab a granny” night?

Think that’s true of most nights in there.

It’s just whether you get the karaoke or club singer as a backing track

They’re viscous cougars in there and take no prisoners.
On Thursdays they’re on the prowl spending their pension money looking for victims, several Stobart Drivers have been seen dropping a cougar off the next morning after a night of passion in the cab
