Hi all,
Got my first (planned) nights-out on Wednesday and Thursday. I’ll be trunking new trailers from Lancaster to a yard in Yorkshire. I plan to overnight tomorrow near to the pickup yard so I can get in as soon as they open and hopefully get 2 good runs in. My overnight parking knowledge is pretty much non-existent and using the power of google found that the nearest SNAP stops (the only paid parking my company will cover) is quite a distance away. I’ve checked google maps but all the nearby industrial estates are covered in double-yellows.
Does anybody have any suggestions or hidden hideaways that might prove useful?
I’m sure you could park on Lune Industrial Estate or at the far end of New Quay rd just outside the estate. I take it you’ll be in a solo unit.
Failing that White Lund estate at Morecambe is only a couple of minutes away down the new bypass, you should find somewhere on there depending on your finish and start times.
As above White Lund estate is big you’ll have no issue getting somewhere on there.
Alternatively if you come off the M6 at junction 34 and head east on the A683 towards Caton about half a mile from the motorway there’s a big layby that’s set back from the road.

Just be careful which way you go in…there’s a 12ft summat bridge on dameside.
Correct way is to turn left at Waterstones bookshop.
10 min walk to town centre

Agreed.
If you go past Waterstones (miss the turning) go down the steep hill, across to the right hand lane, turn right at the junction, follow the road up the hill, sharp right at top of hill (careful with this one) and go down into town and this time don’t miss the left hander at the Waterstones lights. Have a good un.
Cheers chaps,
I ended up parking on Lune industrial estate. Pretty good spot, pretty quiet and a McDonald’s only a 10 min walk away.
8/10 would overnight again
