Parking charge notices, data protection rights

Hi, this isnt regarding any specific incident, however, I have been wondering for some time, if you received a private parking notice, and you are driving a company vehicle, does your company have any right to disclose your personal information (name, address ect) for any of these such incidents?

For example, you drive a lorry, you get sent to a location, but break down at a motorway services for example (or lets just pretend its any private road), and your transport office get landed with one of these parking charges. Would your company be breaking the law by disclosing your personal information to this company?

Most companies will just pay the extortionate charge, and pass it on to the driver.

You mean, pay it, then bring driver in for an informative ‘slapped-arse’? :stuck_out_tongue:

Not entirely on topic, but interesting reading.

Be funny if every single truck parked in a Motorway services did this say next Monday night see what happens  Saying that though we would have to go tell the person in W H Smiths or Costa Coffee that we are parked at their premises, give them the reg of the truck then just as they are typing it into the ANPR machine say, " Oh I forgot to tell you I’m actually illegally parking for the night as I’m refusing to pay the charges and enter into a contract with you"
