Parking at Tesco, Copdock

Evening everyone. I’m currently parked up at the Tesco at Copdock interchange A14/A12. I’ve parked here many a time over the years. Does anyone on here know why Tesco don’t charge a fee?
Was it once a truckstop and when Tesco’s was built they perhaps had to provide free parking??

Just a guess, hope someone can enlighten me.
As an aside, looking at the usual litter and bottles of pi$$ that have been left strewn all around, I’m surprised that they don’t charge something.

If its as bad as you say with the bottles and the rubbish then unfortunately it probably wont be long till a parking fee does arrive.
As usual the ■■■■■■■■ ruin it for every body else eventually
