Hiya .that driver is aloud to drive on any motorway in the EU without any training.WOW…
you should have some type of assment on your driving skills maybe 3 years after passing your test.

I think people would be surprised how many (not just women) drivers would have trouble parralel parking into that space. It was the fact she was so persistant that was unique about this instance. Not sure it’s that big of a deal to be honest.

Honestly don’t see what reversing abilities have anything to do with how safe a driver you are going forwards, which for your average car driver is all that really matters.

Yesterday I went into town and parked in a multi-story, facing in, exactly in the middle of the space. When I got back there was a young man in a tiny Smart car about to park, facing forward, in the space on my right. He was at a much too acute angle to do it in one, so I stood patiently while he reversed about a metre, and had another go.

He was still not going to make it, so he reversed out again, and to my surprise, just gave up and drove off, presumably to find a space with no cars on either side.

Bear in mind that this was a Smart car.

Can’t have been that Smart, couldn’t even park itself ! (Poor little dear !)

To reinforce another prejudice, you get one guess at what sort of person would (presumably) mistake the accelerator for the brake in their Kia in Ferndown:- bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-22346095.

An elderly couple’s car

top quality reporter implying that this is relevant

Despite driving a lorry for a living im pretty crap at parrell parking, find it much easier in a truck strangly lol, but then again i also dont know which way east and west is without thinking about it :open_mouth: .

I could never work out why my Ex had so much trouble parking till one day she told me to slide down the seat to her level(She is 5 foot 3).
I couldn’t believe how little I could see! The front and back end of the car disappeared,I could only see the kerb by turning the mirror down, and it was complete guesswork where the cars at either end of the space were.
I was a lot more understanding after that!

I’m the same, used to have a Calibra & couldn’t park it for Toffee but I could park a wagon any where you liked. Got a Jeep Cherokee LTD (the smaller one) now & find it a lot easier to park.
