those vans make alot of money though, but some of the runs are unreal, one guy i spoke to got from coventry to aberdeen in 6 and a bit hours…
they do alot for parcelforce
Yep, they have been doing this for a few years now, I spoke to one of the drivers one night when fuelling up, the lucky guy was going from Aberdeen to Birmingham and return same night

I thought that even the humble 3.5 tonner is on the limiter nowadays isnt it ?
As for trucking in the 70s. The most basic van is probably better specced than most of the lorries in the 70s ?

not this lot, i as in convoy with a guy down to preston oen evening (first night on this run) and he wasnt exactly going slow, then one of the uk express guys passed us at warp factor 12 or something.

I`ve got a 3.5T Iveco 35 with a box and tail lift,weighs 2.5T empty. 3Ltr engine sits in the high eighties easily.75mph up Bridge of Earn on the M90.

I had a run in a lightly loaded Merc. Sprinter ,drove in traffic for 20 miles got the chance to pull out and overtake and discovered that it was indeed limited to 56MPH.Brown trousers for me.
