Was Friday morning really late on Way the M1 down to Heathrow and crossed by J15A westbound to M40
a mile in front of M40 at Roundabout with ESSO(Good Coffee) two yellow weared People,Heavy Recovery Lorry, and Pallex from Southhampton Depot on leftside laying.
no Driver was around,People are silent if you ask what happened.
But the one said with wet Eyes he orders now before leaving the Warehouse Manager to Trailer to check load before closing Trailer.
I was to fast to take Picture, but they may have CCTV there.
I passed the Pallex truck which was on its side at about 05.30 on friday morning. looked a right mess, I have always taken it real slow at that roundabout as its got a bit of a funny camber . saw a guy lose two 45 gallon drums off his truck at the same spot about 6 months ago.
I dont know why they allow those double decker trailers on our roads, they are unsafe, especially when loaded by numptie forkies who shove all the heavy stuff up on the top deck.

I pull one every night and don’t have a problem. You do need to be aware of how it is loaded and keep the weight off the top deck, but with a bit of common sense they are fine.
I always take my time on rounabouts just in case and that seems to do the trick! I’m still upright so far!!
I spent last week taking one from Gateshead to Tesco’s Livingston each night, no problem apart from the High Winds last Sunday Night, it was causing the weight to be lifted off the O/S resulting in the ABS or something kicking in which caused the whole vehicle to slow down again, roundabouts were no problem as it was only possible to go round them slowly because of the kerblines.
The only problem I had was not knowing how it was loaded as another driver had brought it up from Doncaster and it was sealed, he finished at 7pm I started at 8pm. There are a number of drivers who refuse to pull the deckers though because of the way the sway in the high winds going up the A1 just past Torness.
I was coming down the M6 last year in very high winds whilst everyone in a normal vehicle was slowing down because of it , even some of the irish drivers had slowed down to 60 because of the wind, the only thing flying past me was double deckers but to ne honest they didnt seem to be moving about much in the wind.
The problem why they’re going over is nothing to do with the design of them, it’s because [zb] head driver’s are driving them about like formula 1 cars and don’t have an ounce of working brain cells in their heads.
I’d to see the carnage they’d cause if they were pulling about 20’ bulk liquid containers. 5’ off the ground, 20’ long and over 13’6 high with a 26,000 litres of liquid sloshing around in a bag inside it. That might just teach them how to drive properly and with respect for the load they’re pulling .

Sorry, but Multifloortrailers as they are called too are not really dangerouse.
There is a miss-construction,as builder don’t mind that fright of topdecks press not on theres place down.
on last quarter press they on backwall down, and that with full Power.
In case,as i know it,load Forklift drivers most high pallet, which are most not that havy,on front Quarter, and other three quarters lower pallets
Pallet Steel or bags are ofter around 1000kg
in that case is on Tractor no traction, trailer has with his three axles the Power to run strraight over Roundabout, and, when Tractor catches groundagain rolls Trailer over,as Fright of Topdeck pulls sidewards more then down around Corners.
my experiance shows my,thaty they do jokes with new Drivers,as well as they have a big change of Forklift drivers.
You can ell new Forklift drivers at beginning a lot,but after a few Weeks they are too inteligent.
reloaded lst thrsday twice.first by Forkliftdriver, then run i over weightbridge to get weightslip, phoned Office and ordered Warehouse Manager with Forklift to Bay9
Had 12000kg on last axle and just 6000kg on Poweraxle
had left Trailer wheels flat and right Wheels round.
If you are late and need your Job you may go with that.
as i not do may i shortly tell you about other Jobs.
But,if they are well loaded can you go very quickly without problem.
If havy fright is on lowerdeck and lightweightfreight is on Topdeck and on back can you go around Rounabouts safe too.
You feel that after a mile how the Trailer is loaded,as you have some Rounsabouts to Motorway, and load don’t moves himselfe during the way as that were a change
I agree with fred! Properly loaded (and that’s between you and the FLT driver) they are OK. I’m lucky in that most of our loaders at Palletline are pretty good at loading. My general rule is heavy at the front and work back with the weight. Seems to work - still upright after 13 months
If in doubt - make them re-load it. It pays off in the end.

You are right.
Most Multifloor trailers are not havy,so they are most fast the Hill’s up,and i reduce my Speed tu must not overtake on the Straight after.
There are just a few Companies with bad loads that needs special trained Forklift Drivers,as normal Staff doesn’t knows anything about Technic on Lorries.

Did you show them a empty Cafecup
I just ask as over the Roundabout is a Esso with a excelent Coffee.
Will be pass they at about 22.20/22.30,as Monday evening is most Trafficwork around Junction 14 to 15A on M1
have you seen the trafficwork-Area during F1 race in China

they have sometimes new Forklift Drivers.
They do sometimes bad if there is anything they misslike
They do wrong if someone is new
They also may have loaded some Fright which fell on side.
I had once 6000kg loaded and from that 4000kg on last Quarter.
after i ordered reloading had i the 4 Wooden Boxes with 4000kg on Topdeck and travelled with 45mph the M1 and M25 along
went Tuesday Morning really arly M1 southbound and had at Junction 18 the Sign M1 closed J11/12.
Before i left at J15A was the sign "Delay at J13
Arrived Depot at 07.00,unloaded right Side and went Home.
Came at 20.30 to get showed in BBC News Picture of Pallex truck in Roadcrash on J13.
Pallexdriver died
Bought jesterday evening the Sun and found a small Pic of Truck and Car
(forgot it in Cab)
Car is total smashed, but Driver is alive
Pallextruck had no Cab around the Truck on Picture.
maybe Photograph arrived too late,or cab is under Trailer.
Got said that Driver was around 40 and just got a Baby few weeks ago
it’s Amazing anyone survived that …
That unit !!
Not one to tar anyone with a brush though , is it just me noticing this or are pallex driver’s under immense pressure all the time .
Flyer’s and all that , never really happy to let you overtake and will roll back down the inside of you if they can …
Just seem to look like there under pressure…Given some of there questionable driving habit’s …
And i have to agree with rob k . Pulling fully loaded moving load trailer’s every night (liquids) the only time one falls over is when the driver has driven beyond the vehicle’s capabilities …
All of our driver’s are given a fair investigation when a rollover occur’s , but the outcome is that they were driving too fast and thus dismissed …
ive done some of that night trunk with the parcels and its very cushy not all rush rush you get to the main hub join a very long queue that goes down quite quick then when empty you park up sometimes for 4/5 hours then they fetch you and load you and on your way.
also the lorries you see from scotland or a way away from the hubs are often than not picking up the 48 deliverys and not the next day plus if the lorry has to far to go ive seen them double manned.

i do since a few Weeks Night trunk
Arrive at Depot at 20.45 start at 21.00 go with 50mph to Hub,scan,do Paper and go to Bed at,about 23.50
Get mostly ordered to Bay around 01.30 - 02.30
for 30 min to unload, and back in Bed
mostly at 04.00 - 04.30 that they call my for loading which needs 1 Hour, about.
Then M1 south with 50/55mph
So,stress isn’t.
Just the Morning Traffgic if i go later then 04.00 away the M25 along, but it’s not that bad when i run M1 J15A Westbound to M40.
the miss is just the Havy weight on Rear of Trailer.
In Case of Emergency have i excelent Brake with Brakedisk on Tractor, but no weight on i could brake
On trailer Good Brake, but brakedrums are not that good as disc, and ,Havy Freight which can’t be reduced to lower speed as fast as Tractor does, why trailer starts pushing you
All Bad things are three
and the thirt is,that you can’t holds a pushing Trailer in control if you have not the right pressure on Tractor, why you see so many Jackknife the last Years.(On that Pallextruck too).
That’s the mainreason for the Death of that Driver,as they made years ago the misstake to rebuild a Steptrailer to a Multifoortrailer without thinking of difficult Balance if Axles on back are not moved back.
Today is it as it always was, that rebuilding would cut Money from Profit away.
Some Companies have the Topdeck already on first Quarter too,but if not will you have no weight on Fifthwheel.
