I did a drop and collect from there today, first time going. My god, its chaos. First thing that happened while I was waiting in a queue was a Forkie lifting pallets from a decker only to have the pallet on the other side fall off, “tumble, tumble, CRASH”. This was followed by a series of horns and jeers. Next was trying to squeeze into a spot, I was lucky that I got to load in the wider area round the back. The whole waiting in line only to be jumped by someone else was somewhat irritating but I put this down to me not knowing what the deal is with these places. The shunters have two speeds, stop and boot to the floor. The Forkies can give Lewis Hamilton a run for his money, flying around. When I was waiting to be reloaded, I saw another FLT lifting a pallet of beer kegs off another decker. He pulled the pallet off the trailer only to have to fall to bits sending about 12 beer kegs slamming into the floor. Again more horns and jeers. Is this a thing for places like that?
I’ve never seen an operation like this, that being said the drivers there was very helpful when I asked if they could spot me backing it into a bay. Can’t say I found the experience to my personal tastes. I much prefer RDC work. More laid back.
I used to go there before they had that swanky warehouse, it was a dark and dingy hanger in the middle of nowhere, I only went there in the daytime usually to pick up the surplus our night trunker couldn’t get on the trailer. FLT drivers, completely mad, sure a H&E visit would have closed them down.
The founder Hillary something (ex Dragons Den woman) made a pallet load of money out of it (pun intended) Met her a few times she was very hands on, a formidable lady

She’s still the boss. In the latest newsletter she’s described as the "much loved TV star ". Hideous woman. She used to pronounce her name Deevey, but when she got on telly it became De-Vay…silly cow

I was being discrete with the word ‘formidable’ on an open forum
