Paignton-Totnes road blocked 19 MAY 14

The main Paignton-Totnes road was blocked for over two hours after a serious double lorry crash on Monday morning. (19 MAY 14)

A Mercedes Sprinter fish delivery van was in collision with a DAF 12ton lorry near Collaton St Mary near Blagdon Road at just before 0600.

The driver of the Mercedes was taken to hospital but was not thought to be seriously injured.

Must be photoshopped. On the single carriageway speed limit threads I keep hearing about the limits being out of date due to how safe modern vehicles are.

I guess no amount of electronic gizmos are of any use when circumstance takes over.

Narrow twisty single carriageway , this kind of incident often happens along there

Shame it shows the reporters self ignorance Heading of Double lorry crash… to a van and a 18ter :unamused:

If we’re getting pedantic, I’d say the DAF was a 7.5t. Anyway who was in the (most) wrong? DAF looks like it was hit on its port side to me. That road is narrow in bits and quite busy but it’s not narrow where the incident/accident took place.

My thoughts too

The OP’s post (which I’m assuming is a copy/paste of newspaper report) says it’s a 12t truck. Does rather look like a 7.5 though.

It won’t be a 12t vehicle on six stud wheels. 8 needed.
