Owner driver on Digital

After having to go Digital due to getting another vehicle i was wondering why as a one vehicle operator do i need to keep all these different records. As there is only ever me driving why is downloading my Digicard once a month not enough .Then make a seperate back up on a memory stick. Then download the same info using the company card and reader. Then make another seperate back up on another memory stick. Plus the Vehicle unit holds the same information as well. Am i missing something here or are the same details held in 5 ways , when it used to be OK on one tacho card.Whoever says its progress, IF it aint broke Why fix it/?.Oh and dont mention the extra driving time it adds on over a day and the overspeed warnings at 92 kph!!! FFS,.

cos it an operator requirement and part of you O/L requirements

as the driver of the truck you have to offer it to the owner (you been the owner) for downloading which is yours (drivers) responsibility to do

as an owner you have to use the company card to down load and lock in the data and keep the data for 1 year on some software, give yourself the bollocking if you done some thing wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

Why do you have to back up to a memory stick ?

If you install another hard drive in the computer you could use it for all backups

It sounds one helluva lot easier than trying to keep several hundred or more analogue charts organised and safe!

I thought these things were supposed to be easier to use and reduce effort .I must admit Im not much on a computer , I just think its easier putting a card in of a morning and taking it out at night ,fill it in job done.
