this situation can be annoying but expected i work nights so dont have much bother. what i must say is the one thing that gets me on edge is when overtaking the other lorry decides to drift into your lane epecially around roadworks were the lanes are slighty on the slim side, i find a blast on the horn wakes them up

M6 roadworks in Brum every freekin night.Im doin 50 and some sod comes teararsin past flat out nearly takin my mirrors with him :imp: :imp: :imp:

soz about that i was steering with my knees, watching footy, i take it you didnt get much luck from the number i gave?

No mate but im still lookin you never know i might find summit.(God loves a trier  )

Doesn’t really bother me, when I’m driving a car I let the trucks pull out as usually they’re working and I’m not. Anything bigger, same thing applies; I’m not going to loose much time (or sleep) over it as it doesn’t make an iota of difference in the grand scheme of things (you can waste more time sitting at a set of lights than easing off and letting them past).

Had a right goon on the M40 s/b early this morning between j’s10/9…maybe someone else on here witnessed it. Had just come through j10 in a string of bout 4/5 artics and seeing as i come off at j9 and the old CF i got this week has nothing extra to offer in the terms of speed, i decided to stay where i was than risk failing the overtake and having to beg to get let back in 1 mile futher on. Anyway, APC d/d pulls out and sits in the middle lane (behind a couple of others that had pulled out) so that he can continue south…out of nowhere was an ex Royal Mail CF with a short trailer on that had the usual graffiti sprayed down the side. He didn’t wanna wait behind the others so pulled out into lane 3 and took the lot of 'em. I have been driving long enough to know what sort of speed a vehicle is doing and he was doing well in excess of 60mph,possibly loaded, and this was on a flat bit!! I am also pretty certain that this is one of those MMD knobs that seem to think they can do what they want, and indeed do.

He passed me again between j6/5 s/b M6 clocking about 65 but this time I got his number!

Set the cruise at 52 problem solved much less stressful, watch the truck that passes you and see how long it takes before he is a quarter mile in front, ages is the answer. Try it for a day, enjoy the ride look at the countryside and the pretty laydees etc not the back of a truck. Nice

I do this (it’s all my truck does on the pedal though the cruise will take it to 55) then if I do need to pass someone I’ve got a bit in reserve to overtake quickly. Unless of course they don’t like tippers passing their pimpmobile and then speed up!

Why?

Do you collect registration numbers?

Unless…You’re planning to make a complaint, I mean this madman could kill somebody doing a whole 5mph over the legal speed limit for lorries, it sure is a good job we have concerned citizens willing to stop lunatics like this, you could make a full time job of it if you sit at the bottom of any big hill and get the numbers of all the dangerous lorries going over the speed limit :unamused:

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone pulling limiter fuses or whatever, it’s not really setting a good example of professionalism and whilst it may warrant a shake of the head, what business is it of anyone elses? Unless you’re a copper or VOSA, maybe if it was in a built up area or he was doing 65 up the hard shoulder while swigging from a bottle of Scotch, then it would be a different story, but a bit of speeding, come on now, and the 3rd lane bit, isn’t that where the inside lane becomes the slip road to come off at the A34? (sorry can’t remember my junction numbers) if so then that wasn’t illegal anyway, as soon as the dotted lines or markings in the lane indicate that lane 1 is a slip road you can use the outside of the two remaining lanes of the M40

Could not agree more. Spot on
