Am I the only one that appears to obey the overtaking restrictions on the A14?
nope i do even though it really boils my ■■■■ same as on the a42 too, i wonder if enough drivers got together they could claim discrimination by the government and get it overturned?

i do if its busy. if there ■■ all coming up the outside lane an im quite a bit quicker usually am as im empty il go for it…thought everyone done that?

I do wonder how many other driving laws you think its ok to ignor,it doesent matter weather or not outside lane is clear NO OVERTAKING IS NO OVERTAKING.

I know someone who got done, he was on the phone to me at the time, I listened in to the lecture he got. I don’t risk it. You want to try Germany after there long stretches of no over taking even on 3 lane motorways you can put up with 10 minutes behind a slow vehicle.

If one lane is blocked off by roadworks on a 3 laned motorway then its only a 2 laned section so can use it, ive done it before plenty of times. hell ive even been in the 3rd lane of the motorway (stupid design of the m80 giving a barely used slip road its own lane!!!)

Lane one wasn’t blocked off, all three lanes were working and lane three also has a width restriction on it, its the road works south past Northampton, 50 mph limit he passed me in second lane following a motorcycle doin just over 50 then moved to the outside lane to pass the motorcycle…

I thought the overtaking ban had been taking away now, last few times I’ve been along there I noticed the signs had gone. and it was a “trial” to start with anyway wasn’t it?
Bollox to it. I kinda find that coming from the M6/M1 split heading east. I can pootle along like a good-un. Come the bloody no overtaking spot, your stuck behind some plank dragging a Tesco/turners/Bartrums trailer doing 45mph.
You get to the other end and these folk are off like a bloody scud missile.
Some folk for one reason or another just keep creaming their pants about the inconvenience/queue ect they create behind them.
Well stuff them, I’m empty, I can quickly wiggle round them. You get the odd coffin dodging old ■■■■ give you his impression of Gareth Hunt. But hey, if he done 50mph we could pootle along in happiness and Karma. The sooner that road captain industrial chimney smoking old codger snuffs it the better for the rest of us.

Was it because some numpty was in the ‘car’ lane doing 42mph? and not moving over? I get it there every night and every morning on the way back, and yes I’ve done the outside lane thing because frankly it makes my ■■■■ boil!
I haven’t however gone in 6’6’ width restriction on the M6 at junction 7 southbound that some drivers seem to not see which makes your arse twitch a bit when you have to nearly hit the cones to let the buggers by!

I used to drive a lorry, but it got overturned.
If its quiet and i’ve got plenty in reserve i’ll overtake.

Depends, in those circumstances, they’ll usually put a 6’6" limit on the 2nd lane for the safety of the workers.
