Simple really if you got a big wide load overtaking you, your probably going too slow and your are in the way…not hard is it?
All in all there seems to be nothing but whinging tossers on here if you are in his bog off and work in an office too much time on your hands and not enough
work done TOSSERS

No doubt someone will say “so what” in my opinion there was no way this was a safe
manoeuvre why would anyone drive on the limiter with a wide load ?
I drive a Canadian truck that is limited to 65mph (due to laws in two other Provinces, not my own) and when I’m down in the US it never ceases to amaze me how many wide loads and such like come past me doing 70+mph with all sorts of lights flashing and ■■■■■■ vehicles. It definetely takes some getting used to when you’re used to them trundling on at quite a slow speed in the UK.
I’v spent the last 8 or so years on a low loader moving all shapes sizes and weights of machinery. Wide does not necessarily mean heavy or dangerous so why trundle around holding up the traffic. As the signs say all the way up the A9, “frustration causes accidents” . I was once escorted into central London by the Police with a 13ft6in wide 16ft high air con unit on. The instructions from the police were to move as fast as i could to minimise disruption as long as i was confident at the speed i was travelling they would ■■■■■■ accordingly. I agree, Speed is not always appropriate but on the A90? Dual carriageway all the way theres no reason to trail along at 40 holding everyone up. Have faith that the driver was probably fairly experienced with wide loads as a lot of companies (RTH Lubbers, grampian continental, MGS logistics, MTL Heavy haulage, Colin Lawson, CF Jennings to name a few) are running to and from aberdeen all the time with wide loads on. There was no accident caused so why all the fuss.
All the fuss no doubt ius being caused by people who have read too many training pamphlets, been on a couple of elf n safety courses and have never driven anything but a supermarket lorry downrated to run flat out at 80Km/h. Bring back the days when we ran flat out everywhere in unlimited F88’s with flat roped and sheeted trailers, no night heaters and not a lot else. At least we werent surrounded by all these bloody namby pamby whiners.
Off topic but does anyone know if the speed cams on that road will flash if going over 50mph Just that everytime I slow down for them I seem to get hgv’s going past me at 50+
does the gatso speed cams, Aberdeen to Dundee A90 set to record hgv’s speed?

the only ones that will flash if your over 50mph is the ones in the 50 zone at laurenckirk, all the rest can be taken on the limiter

None of them will flash you, including Laurencekirk. I’m up that road most days & 100% certain!
No one has mentioned the dangers of eating a whole Mcdonalds, that should take this thread to twenty pages.

gotta beware at laurenckirk as sometimes the rozzers sit just down the montrose road and clock the speeders coming through the 50 zone
