Overspeeding on tacho?

How is it possible to go past the speed limiter tho? Mines set at 56mph so i dint think it was possible to go over that speed? Ive read somewhere if you stay at the limiter speed for 30+ seconds ull get the overspeed warning

Some (but not all) trucks will go above the limit when going downhill, particularly (but not only) when loaded. Scanias will, MANs won’t - the retarder will kick in even if it’s switched off (the two makes I’m most familiar with).

Mans do with 26 tonnes of tiles on the back

Sorry but your wrong, turn the cc off and it will go off the clock if the hills steep enough

And as some of our older drivers used to say, turn off the cc at the top of a steep hill, and turn it on again at the bottom…

Ask a Montgomery’s driver. Most of them prefer a heavier trailer if given a choice. I think the term was “more momentum”

It’s clear people that don’t overspeed are hanging the job out.

Blimey I overspeed all the time, got up to 75 the other day just to re live to old days, keep it lit.

Some days I have over 1h of overspeeding. Right stretch of road and it’s no problem. Only try to keep it under 65mph since that’s what most trailer axles are classified for. Also when it’s +25c and fully loaded I try to keep it under 60 since you get so much heat in the tires, almost feels like a sandpaper sometimes if you touch the rubber.

IIRC you are allowed 3 overspeeds before it registers on the tacho. By the 3rd one, if you do not press ‘‘ok’’ you can overspeed to your hearts content and it will not register as overspeeding.

done it twice today on the A23 towards brighton,i looked at it, mumbled pxxs off and pressed ok,as other ops have said I did not go past 60mph so I am not that bothered
