Why is it you cant get a decent speed up going downhill trying to overtake

You can, but not for too long.

When does an over speed register on your digi card as an over speed??

When youre not quick enough to press OK twice

Depends on the setting but usually 60mph or 96kmh

Mine kicks in at 57mph for some reason. I watch it like a hawk going downhill and it still catches me out as it doesn’t happen every time.

When it flashes up on your digi display.

I’m sure it has to be for over a minute

Because RB don’t normaly carry much weight, chill produce on half pallets lettuce celery etc, Frozen is usually half empty pallets of diff products so driver and loaders don’t have to split em, Only time they run anywhere near top weight is on the deckers full of frozen pizza out of Dr Oetker
You can run 95% of the time and lift axle wont auto drop at RB
weight downhill equals momentum

But you were still unable to work out the answer to your question

Over 90 kmh for more than 30 seconds= <<overspeed 30>>
over 90 kmh for more than 60 seconds= <<overspeed 60>> and so on.
Iirc your last five overspeeds are recorded on your card as well as the fastest ever, needs looking up though for clarification.
Best I’ve ever got is to 120 (seconds) down Windy Hill with a full load of boilers.

Didn’t realise you were a bus driver MadBaz ■■?

In reply to the OP.
The clue is in your username !

The overspeed registers on the VU(Vehicle Unit) after 60 seconds. We were told that the primary function is to ensure the vehicle’s road speed limiter has not been compromised. We were also told that an overspeed must be continuously recorded for ten minutes to justify an infringement. The EU acknowledges that there are 12 mountains/hills in the EU where this ten minute rule may be exceeded by a heavily laden vehicle, and they also acknowledge that in some ocassions it is potentially safer to let a truck ‘roll on’ for a few mintues here and there rather than have a driver keep his/her toe on the brake pedal continuously, therby reddening/overheating the friction materials of same.

£60.50 Fine and a driver conduct hearing if vosa download your digi card and see any overspeeds over 3 seconds. Unless you can prove you did all you could to stop it happening or you can justify it. That’s the truth, a driver at an RDC said so!
