Oversize and wide loads question

Currently in the middle of a 6 day CPC course, and part of today was learning the regulations regarding wide/oversize loads.
Am I right in saying that alot of the “police notice” and “police ■■■■■■” regulations are now obsolete as I have read in the truck mags that police forces will no longer ■■■■■■ alot of “normal” wide/oversize loads due to budget constraints etc?
I’m in the need for a good argument back in the classroom tomorrow :stuck_out_tongue:

"police notice

All abnormal loads still need notifying…

Not geting a movement order will cause any STGO load to be counted as operating under C&U regulations, and consequently be massively overweight.

ACPO (Assoc. of Chief Police officers) has suggested that all loads under VR1 or Special order should only be escorted by police where there is a significant danger to other road users

Not all police forces have followed this advice… some will ■■■■■■… and others will not

There is NO legislation for private escorts, and pilot cars have no authority to stop/marshall other road users.

Hope this is a start for your discussion
