They are pretty good to be honest, bit strange at first going forwards do the way it turns, though reversing is no more difficult than a normal length trailer when you get used to the rear steer axle!
I’ve used them in Morrisons, they let you drive & reverse them in the yard for 20/30mins then off you go,they’re not to bad until the bloody sencer comes on 3ft from the bay & slowly releases
Some of them aren’t set up right, we have a few that come in from Elddis, they only work properly when driving forward, when reversing the wheels lock the wrong way for your manouvre, so you have to get out and lock the steering axle before you move, poor design
Nothing special. They have been using trombone trailers for years. And as for rear steers not locking in reverse the pin should self lock when you engage reverse via a solenoid powerd by the reverse light circuit.

Before you reverse onto the bay pull the S (green) susie to disable the proximity sensors.
Thats whats wrong with transport,a load of a/holes in suits dummbing it down for the useless pillocks who cant bloody reverse a trailer. It aint rocket science to gently put a trailer onto a bay for christ sake but saying that I watch some of the cretins where I work ,
and I weep!!!
I used 70-foot trombone trailers on steel delivery for years. After a while your brain gets used to making allowances for the extra length. I found that the worst thing was estimating where the rear of the trailer was when reversing into a bay- had to make myself look like a numpty by walking to the back of the outfit two or three times to make sure! Better safe than sorry, though.
Has there been any suggestion that you might get extra wages for driving one?

Now you are takin the poss. You get the “pleasure” of some big swanky trailer.you lucky lucky boy,the money goes to the towrag sat on his ■■■ who allows you to work for him due to his caring nature and altruistic leanings.
Now count yourself lucky you got a job,.There are millions of Poles,Lithuanians,Slovakians etc who come over here, steal your job,and then we do ■■■■ all about it so who is the monkey .Them or us?
Now pass me the Vodka and Polish sausage Corva!
Bring on the Romanians in January!
Why is this happening?
I can only guess because there is no effective input from the transport unions.

transport unions aint interested, the only thing they interested in is the yearly fee so they can keep there jollys up
I’ve run at 120 foot with 2 trailers does that count
I’d love to have a go with one, be many years till i get the chance though. Not interested in extra money dont really see why you need to be paid more. The guys that are pulling them at the moment are trunkers and everyone knows there lazy ■■■■■■■ who turn up at the hub sit about for hours doing nothing then potter back to the yard.
