Overbridge Missile Attacks

Things being thrown off bridges - have killed motorists passing underneath in the past.
I’m not convinced at present that the police are taking this threat to ALL motorists seriously enough.

Dozens of people were killed on “smart motorways” before any councillors (let alone law enforcement) - took any “evasive” action about it, usually comprising of “lessons will be learned” statements made at inquests…

Now it seems that “no action” is the usual and continuing response of police, bearing in mind the lack of even “suspicion” arrests, let alone charged suspects in these cases, which of course now occur more and more often as a result of such law “inactivity” no doubt emboldening these potential murdering scumbags.

The police could up the patrols but there a lot of bridges out there Winseer.

Think I’ve made the right decision to have a months hol as of fri ( need a good break after working all through covid ) if there chucking stuff at you ( though I seem to get more parents wanting me to blow the horn for the kids , which I don’t mind ) than stuff chucked at me
I’ll look in 3 weeks time & may not bother comming back if the same is still happening

Since the police cannot realistically be there at the moment of criminal act, at least one would have thought they’d take seriously some witness statements naming names, who’s kids they are etc.
Maybe there might be some video evidence forthcoming…?

But this is all for naught if when presented with such evidence the police STILL do nothing, perhaps because there’s the possibility of some ethnics or maybe even brudders involved, which tend to be recognized as an ethnic, faith, and victim of hate speech group, as I understand it, enjoying “most favoured criminal ignored” status in our country…

…Maybe the police could follow-through with their official “look the other way” stance, as and when any toerag gets some kind of ■■■■■■■■■■■ after some farmer gets his jag badly dented, and farmer is packing as they so often are… :smiling_imp:

In reality, the prosecution is down usually to the CPS, not the Police. Yob 1 says ‘Nah, I didn’t throw the brick init’, £500 in solicitors cost to the public plus £300 to DNA the brick, he comes back and says ‘yeah I might have moved it, but I didn’t throw it, so prove it’ = Insufficient evidence = case closed.

The responsibility for prevention always seems to fall on police and it simply isn’t their remit, this should be for the highways agency of the local council to address by placing cages over any vehicle/footbridge along any route.

I reckon HD video footage - is going to have to be FAR more admissible as evidence in the years to come.

Whilst we know that the powers that be can pretty much fake-up anything they want, I don’t imagine for a minute that the huge expense and expert teams being called in - are likely to be called up to defend some tramp who’s not worth the bog paper to wipe them off as proverbials hit onone’s shoe…

As such then, I’d argue that if any bystander captures HD footage from within 50m away of louts chucking objects off overbridges - all the footage needs to show is the faces of the indivuduals, rather than as you put it - “DNAing the Brick” so we can find out that it’s Dad was a Breeze Block, and Mum was a Lego 4x2… :stuck_out_tongue:

How often per week do you blow your horn for the kids?

i often blew my horn for the kids when passing caravan transit sites, (presumably called because of all the transit vehicles parked there)
night time was usually good as the parents used to come out waving to me,
