Over tacho time

Hello there , I drove over the 4:30 hours tach time few times , couples of time because of accidents at the M1 , one time I was 10 minutes from the depo , one time on houre just because I want to finish and go home…
How long that will be in my tachograph? And what the worse case cinario if I get got by foosa ?

As long as you did manual explanations for those then nothing will happen to most of those but did you mean you went over by 1 hour at one point? - if yes then that could be a serious issue and if picked up on in the next 6 months you could well be fined

Yes that what I did , do you have an idea what the fine might be ?
Thank you for your replay

Were you on digital or analogue tacho?

Going over for a GOOD reason, you can get away with.
I did a 5 hour drive once when I got hopelessly lost in rural Ireland and couldn’t find a stopping place.

Just wanting to get home (though I know the feeling!) is not a good enough reason.

If it was on digital (which remembers for a LONG time) then you had better not do it again so you can at least claim it was a new driver mistake.

Vosa do not exist anymore , they are now called Dvsa.
Driving over an hour to get home is not acceptable, if you had an an accident and there was a fatality, you would be at home in a prison cell for many years.
The judge would make an example of you to deter other drivers breaking the law and throw the book at you.
The law allows driving over tacho time only for reasons beyond your control, for example stuck on a motorway due to delays with no place to park up.
Bad weather such as snow and ice delays
to reach suitable parking.
What Dvsa hate is pi55 taking, they allow for mistakes and traffic delays but not an hour.

me thinks you nee to find a new form of work …this is not an excuse just because you wanted to go home

If Dvsa do a random check of driving records at the work base, and find offences , the traffic commisioner can take away driving licences, take away vehicles listed on their operating licence, ban the boss or manager from trading.
If you were caught in Europe with an hour over, the fine to pay would be ten thousand or more Euros to be paid on the road side.No pay, no go.
Or lock the truck in the police compound.

If i were “FOOSA”, and i get got you , i would shred your licence, then send you HOME.

PS. im just wonering, did you cause the accidents at the M1 too  :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

It is stated that Ali drove over by ten minutes to arrive at the delivery point, that is pi55 poor planning by the driver or manager.
The journey should be planned to do it legally without the driver falling asleep at the wheel and killing people.
The offences stay in the tachograph machine for many years.
As said the TC will shut the firm down for bad repute.
Ali sounds like a cowboy driver for a rogue operator.
