Release date: 25 October 2012
There have been scenes in the Outback Truckers TV series which show high-risk and potentially un-safe practices.

We believe that the show is not in line with BP’s core values and as a result we have taken action to withdraw our endorsement of the program, effective immediately.

While there will continue to be pre-recorded scenes in the series involving a BP driver - who at all times is driving safely - BP wishes to make it clear that it does not condone any un-safe behaviours which may be exhibited by others.

BP is committed to safe and reliable operations across all our activities, including road transportation.

Industry pulls support for Outback Truckers

Posted on October 25, 2012

Apparently it was shock without the awe for Cat Trucks and BP after the premiere of Outback Truckers last Saturday evening. Both companies have withdrawn support for the program after seeing the program go to air in its final state.

People from Cat Trucks I have spoken to say they are dismayed at the way truckies were portrayed in the program and say there is no place for the kind of dangerous, unsafe behaviour demonstrated in the program.

There is also concern for the public attitude towards the transport companies involved with the program. From what I understand, GKR is a well managed, professional operation and I’m told that the driver in question is no longer with company.

BP Australia has withdrawn with this media statement released this afternoon:

BP Withdraws Endorsement of Outback Truckers TV Series There have been scenes in the Outback Truckers TV series which show high-risk and potentially un-safe practices. We believe that the show is not in line with BP’s core values and as a result we have taken action to withdraw our endorsement of the program, effective immediately.

Cat Trucks has asked Prospero Productions to make certain amendments to the episode due to go to air on Saturday, but what ever the outcome both Cat Trucks and BP have had their logos removed from coming episodes and have officially withdrawn support. The future of the series is uncertain.

Makes it a tad more interesting to watch how some muppetesses do things

Women :unamused: First one drives through a live level crossing whilst blaming the car she’s overtaking !!! Second ( ex model apparently ?) can’t shift a proper transmission cos she normally drives an auto , bit like some of the whiners on here .
Don’t know why BP are getting twisted , their driver was good , sure he filled a tank when the dipstick was missing/stolen but not before checking previous sales since his last fill , also did a recce in a pickup before committing himself with his tanker .
Steve Graeme is undoubtedly the star of the show ,60 yrs old driving a knackered old KW900 on the dirt roads during the wet season , taking 42 days for a trip that should’ve taken 10 , I tip my hat to his patience and perseverance ,he’s welcome to his job .

■■■■■■■ astonishing how badly that prat drove when she went round the car at the crossing

I’ve only seen the first few episodes , Peterm tell us poms how the show has been received down under , aside from the sheila’s screwing it up for Bruce , as is usually the case , what has been the reaction from your non driving mates re the show ?

BTW , BEFORE SOME SELF RIGHTEOUS ARSE MAKES A COMMENT , I WAS BORN THERE SO CAN TAKE THE ■■■■ WITHOUT GUILT .

To be honest mate, I don’t know anyone that watches it… myself included. I watched the one with Steve Graeme, who I’d class as a real driver, but I must have then watched a bit of the one with the women in it and said ■■■■ it. I only saw the silly ■■■■■ on youtube after reading the posts on here.

Don’t worry about ■■■■ taking mate. I’m not pc.

Totaly differant circumstances in Australia, roads conditions vast distances etc is it supposed to be squeky clean and edited to the hilt like stobarts series…put that prick MD in that situation he would be crying for mummy…i did squirm a bit when the sheila ran the lights at the level crossing and wouldnt condone that at any cost…the program was ok but i wouldnt moan if i missed part 2.
