I spent nearly 5 hours on a bay at the Co-op West thurrock yesterday. There are 5 unloading bays but only 1 guy unloading apparently they laid off the agency staff to save money(does,nt matter they are costing the hauliers money!) The guy next to me was a good half an hour over his 15 hours on a digi card. He could,nt take his card out because they would,nt give him his keys back.He said he was going to the titan truck stop which is only over the road I know but thats not really the point.
My advice to him was to ring the old bill and put the ball in thier court but he did,nt seem to want the aggro. He was a nice old guy I just hope if he gets a tacho check later on he does,nt get done.
Strange when you hand in your paperwork at this RDC there is a sign that says , Our staff will not tolerate physical or verbal abuse and anyone doing so will be escorted off site. When you see this sort of sign you know that what it should say is, We are a bunch of tossers that upset drivers on a regular basis and we can do what we like!

i’ve been banned from better places than that before
in fact, i ws actually banned from there before it was Co op, when it was CNH 
Was it a load of chilled he had on? Were in/out of West Thurrock daily and dont get much hassle. On the other hand when we go to Iceland Enfield its a diff ball game, they just dont want to know at all in there and the next time I go in there I will pull the card, curtains shut and hit the bed. If they want me moved they’ll need to get the plod and/or VOSA to move me. Cant stand PEN PUSHERS who think they know best.
i know and i agree with the day drivers who have to suffer this sort of treatment, but to be fair i would have got my keys back and pulled my card and that is where i would have stayed for the night. i wouldnt be bullied about about these spotty oiks.
they wouldnt have had a leg to stand on. you got there in your allocated time and its them who have taken 5 hours to tip.
I’ve had this in the past … I have with 30 min left duty time asked for keys and paperwork as i have to go when they said no i’ve told them they cant and if they insist then they are acting outside the law 15mins to go and I have my keys it’s too late and have spent the night on the bay alog with 2 others in the same boat .
A lorry could be tipped in 30 minutes, if they hold you by taking the keys from yourgood self.I would say that you could have them charged with false imprisonment.They are merchant bankers so a stand has to be taken to cut them back down to size.
If you have this kind of problem on a regular bais just spend a couple of quid & get a spare key cut. Even if you have a “chip in key” you can at least get inside the cab to pull the card or go to bed etc.
