out of hours question.

No No No

No pulling fuses for me. Not at all. It’s too traceable.

But you’re spot on - as usual - with the rest of it.

Just do the little dance. Up and over at a graded junction. A couple of times round a roundabout. A bit of Mickey Mouse. At a push, you can do it on an Msa - you just look a bit of a plonker driving round going nowhere in particular.

To be fair, it’s not something I’ve felt the need to do for a number of years. And clearly, not since the introduction of the ■■■■ and blasted digi-smart-card thing. But the principle seems to be the same, except the detail is stored in the machine, rather than on a physical piece of paper.

If I was to be out of time, one hour from the yard on a Friday night, I’d either stop short at a more convenient place (truckstop/cafe/msa) where I can get a decent shower in preparation for a little game my other half and I like to play called "Tonight Matthew, I’m going to be . . . . . . " (It’s a sort of dressing up game  ) Of course, I would book the night out, and the company would very kindly pay me the minimum 4 hours for running in on the Saturday morning. Or I’d run as close as possible then make a phone call to be picked up, taken home, do the rumpy pumpy, and have her take me back to the truck in the morning. Again, booking the night out and the 4 hours.

And as a matter of perspective . . . . . . . . . .

I think unless you’re being investigated for something else, like murder/■■■■/manslaughter . . . . . . . . . . . Just how in-depth do people really think the investigative effort will be to find 30/40/50 missing kilometres ■■

For me it goes all the way back to, and no further than my initial response about missing mileage that occurred between me finishing work on the Friday and re-starting on the following Monday.

Gate Monkeys and unscheduled serving.

The main consideration is the punishment for going over your hours will generally be a lot less than that for falsifying records so leave the fuse in and drive on, if the parking up option isn’t for you.

 Again for perspective . . . .

Some people may have the main consideration that . . . . . .

If you “falsify” you may not be found out. If you push on and exceed your hours, you will be found out. I suppose it could be argued that it depends on your (one’s) own “attitude and opinion to risk”

When I was caught out, cheating on my first wife, my “apology” consisted of me being sorry that I’d put her in the position of finding out. I was sorry to have been caught

And I’d like to reiterate . . . . In this day and age, “pulling the fuse” is a definite no go area.
