Out based drivers and home parking

What are the present rules on weekend parking for trucks, and outbased drivers?
I have driven for a couple of foreign co.s in the past which were obviously foreign registered, so you could weekend park at home legally anyway.
I also drove for an Essex based firm for 10yrs, and I was never bothered by VOSA when weekend parked at home 300+ miles away, but maybe I was just lucky.
It used to be when I had my O licence years ago that the trucks had to be weekend parked at the operating centre named on the O licence, is this still the case today, if so how do you stand as an outbased driver? I may have the chance of another out based job in the near future so I need to know the score. Cheers.

There’s a guy who parks his artic regularly on his days off down the road from me, I won’t mention the firm though but I know they aren’t based close by to us. So not sure if its against the rules but it works for him I’vd seen him putting his gear in his cab in a morning

worked for 2 firms in yeovil and always parked wagon on Heywood truck stop and used a local transport firms yard to park in as well. never had any bother and was checked by vosa numerous times.

I think its one of those things that comes under the category “unless someone complains, the authorities don’t give a ■■■■”.

It would be a foolish operator who didn’t make some provision for parking, you may get away with it, but ■■■■ just one neighbour off and their arse wont touch the seat.
