Ouistreham to Poitiers

If you not in a hurry, you can use the national free road, leaving the Caen ring road to Laval and Angers, you pass through a valley area called Petite Suisse,or Little Switzerland, river rafting for the tourists,a quiet road without paying the peage tolls.
Plenty of Rouitiers on the way down.

Yes done that when we went to Spain about 5 yrs ago, very picturesque.

Oh thank you.

a favorite pulling route for the condoms though, so unless you are squeeky clean and speek some french it could turn out to cost more that the toll roads :exclamation:

Always been in a rush so not tried it but as said could be costly with the locals. I have always been advised to use the tolls

A favourite route for me and a well worn one, you are actually crossing the Falaise Pocket or Gap which was a famous bridgehead in WW2

We had a lot of JCB customers in that area, it was a short cut to Angers or Nantes and we also had several collection points in the same area.

going out for month later in year is this road caen to angers caravan friendly…

It’s mostly deserted up there from what I remember.
